Oundle Cruising Club
Bank Holiday Weekend Sat 28th Aug to Monday 30th Aug
It was decided in not to have our usual Bank holiday Cruise. There are several reasons, however the main reason is the current unstable state of the river due to the vast amount of rain we have endured recently.
We did however play Hosts to our good friends from Elton Cruising Club. Unfortunately the river was closed until Saturday officially and Friday evening unofficially, so Elton could make the trip to us. A big thank you to the Environment for releasing the locks early. Elton arrived with 10 boats late Friday early Saturday and spent a very enjoyable time with us. We were also joined by other boats that had been trapped by the closure of the river. This was to our advantage but unfortunately at the expense of our friends at Northampton Cruising Club. Many boats were on their way to their mini rally but were unable to complete the trip, one such boat was housing our ANRC Captain, Ray.
Saturday we had our disco supplied by Mark and there was a grand feast.
Thanks to all who worked so hard in making this a wonderful OCC evening.
Sunday was relax day, however there was still plenty of work finding mooring for boats staying with us until the following weekend as they could not complete their trip home.
Another successful weekend.
On the membership front, we have had 17 new applications to be approved at our next committee meeting 3rd Sept.
